Ingredients
1 cup (227g) unsalted butter, softened
½ cup (65g) powdered sugar
1½ cups (195g) all-purpose flour
¼ cup (30g) cornstarch
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar until very light and fluffy (3–5 minutes).
 - Add vanilla extract and mix to combine.
 - Sift together flour and cornstarch in a separate bowl.
 - Gradually beat dry ingredients into the butter mixture until a soft dough forms.
 - Transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip, or roll into balls and flatten with a fork.
 - Pipe or shape cookies onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
 - Chill the tray of cookies for 15–20 minutes to help them hold their shape.
 - Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
 - Bake cookies for 15–18 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
 - Let cookies cool on the baking sheet, then dust with powdered sugar if desired.
