These Mushroom Puff Pastry Pinwheels are everything you want in a finger food—crispy, savory, cheesy, and packed with flavor. Made with golden puff pastry, sautéed mushrooms, herbs, and melted cheese, they’re a simple yet impressive dish that works for any occasion.
Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
8 oz mushrooms (cremini or baby bella), finely chopped
1 shallot (or small onion), finely diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
1 tablespoon fresh thyme or parsley, chopped
1 cup shredded Gruyère or mozzarella cheese
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté shallots and garlic until soft and fragrant.
 - Add mushrooms and cook until they release their moisture and turn golden brown. Stir in herbs, season with salt and pepper, and remove from heat.
 - Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle.
 - Spread cooled mushroom mixture evenly over the pastry. Top with shredded cheese.
 - Roll the pastry tightly from one long edge into a log. Wrap and chill for 15–20 minutes.
 - Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the chilled log into 1/2-inch pinwheels.
 - Place slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake 15–20 minutes until golden and puffed.
 - Cool slightly before serving.
