Description

These Mushroom Puff Pastry Pinwheels are everything you want in a finger food—crispy, savory, cheesy, and packed with flavor. Made with golden puff pastry, sautéed mushrooms, herbs, and melted cheese, they’re a simple yet impressive dish that works for any occasion.

Ingredients

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

8 oz mushrooms (cremini or baby bella), finely chopped

1 shallot (or small onion), finely diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon olive oil or butter

1 tablespoon fresh thyme or parsley, chopped

1 cup shredded Gruyère or mozzarella cheese

Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté shallots and garlic until soft and fragrant.
  2. Add mushrooms and cook until they release their moisture and turn golden brown. Stir in herbs, season with salt and pepper, and remove from heat.
  3. Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle.
  4. Spread cooled mushroom mixture evenly over the pastry. Top with shredded cheese.
  5. Roll the pastry tightly from one long edge into a log. Wrap and chill for 15–20 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the chilled log into 1/2-inch pinwheels.
  7. Place slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake 15–20 minutes until golden and puffed.
  8. Cool slightly before serving.
