Description
Mini Cheese Danishes are a delightful combination of flaky puff pastry and sweet cream cheese filling. These bakery-style treats are easy to make at home and perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert. With golden edges, creamy centers, and a hint of glaze, they’re loved by both kids and adults!
Ingredients
2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 egg yolk
1 egg, for egg wash
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tbsp milk
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and egg yolk until smooth.
3. Roll out puff pastry sheets and cut into 3×3 inch squares.
4. Fold in corners slightly or press centers to form a well.
5. Spoon 1 tablespoon of cream cheese filling into the center of each square.
6. Beat the egg and brush the edges of each pastry with egg wash.
7. Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden and puffed.
8. Let cool on a wire rack.
9. Mix powdered sugar and milk to create glaze. Drizzle over cooled danishes if desired.
Notes
Make sure cream cheese is at room temperature for the smoothest filling.
Don’t overfill each square to avoid spillage during baking.
For best flakiness, serve warm or reheat in the oven—not microwave.
