Description
This Ground Beef Philly Cheesesteak Meal Prep transforms classic cheesesteak flavor into a convenient, satisfying meal prep option. Featuring juicy seasoned beef, sautéed peppers and onions, and gooey melted cheese over rice or in a hoagie roll—it’s hearty, bold, and perfect for make-ahead lunches or weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 medium green bell pepper, sliced
1 medium red bell pepper, sliced
1 medium yellow onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
4 hoagie rolls or 2 cups cooked white rice
1 cup shredded provolone or cheddar cheese
Instructions
1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat if needed.
2. Push the beef to one side and add sliced onions and bell peppers to the skillet. Sauté for 5–7 minutes until softened but still vibrant. Stir everything together.
3. Add garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine and simmer for 2–3 minutes to allow flavors to blend.
4. Spoon the beef and pepper mixture into hoagie rolls or serve next to cooked rice. Top with shredded cheese while hot so it melts.
5. Allow everything to cool, then divide into containers. Store in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze components separately.
Notes
For a lighter version, swap ground beef with ground turkey or chicken.
Add mushrooms when sautéing veggies for an extra layer of umami flavor.
Toast hoagie rolls before filling to avoid sogginess.
