Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 box yellow cake mix (15.25 oz)
1/2 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)
1/4 cup red and green sprinkles (nonpareils or jimmies)
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and cream cheese until smooth and fluffy.
2. Add the egg and vanilla extract; mix until fully combined.
3. Gradually add the yellow cake mix and stir until a thick dough forms.
4. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
5. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll into balls.
6. Roll each dough ball in powdered sugar, then gently press the top into the Christmas sprinkles.
7. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
8. Bake at 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) for 10โ12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are still soft.
9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 3โ5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
