Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 box yellow cake mix (15.25 oz)
1/2 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)
1/4 cup red and green sprinkles (nonpareils or jimmies)
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and cream cheese until smooth and fluffy.
2. Add the egg and vanilla extract; mix until fully combined.
3. Gradually add the yellow cake mix and stir until a thick dough forms.
4. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
5. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll into balls.
6. Roll each dough ball in powdered sugar, then gently press the top into the Christmas sprinkles.
7. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are still soft.
9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 3–5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
10. Serve warm or store in an airtight container.
