Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup white chocolate chips
3/4 cup crushed candy canes or peppermint bits
Instructions
1. Cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
2. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt together.
4. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
5. Fold in chocolate chips and white chocolate chips evenly.
6. Scoop dough onto lined baking sheets. Press extra chips and crushed peppermint on top.
7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes or until edges are golden.
8. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
Chill the dough for 30 minutes if your kitchen is warm to reduce spreading.
Press extra peppermint and chips on top before baking for a bakery-style look.
Cookies freeze well—store in airtight bags and reheat for 10 seconds before serving.
