Description
This Ultimate Cheesy Ground Beef Melt is the perfect fusion of savory ground beef, two kinds of cheese, and crispy golden bread. It’s diner-level indulgence made right in your own kitchen with pantry staples and minimal prep. Perfect for quick lunches or comforting dinners.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
8 slices white or sourdough bread
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
1. In a medium saucepan, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
2. Add Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well and let simmer for 2–3 minutes.
3. Butter one side of each slice of bread. Lay them butter-side down on a surface.
4. Layer cheddar cheese, then spoonfuls of the beef mixture, then mozzarella cheese on 4 slices.
5. Top with remaining bread slices, buttered side up.
6. Heat a skillet over medium-low heat. Cook each sandwich 3–4 minutes per side, pressing slightly with a spatula, until bread is golden and cheese is melted.
7. Remove from heat. Let sit 1 minute. Slice diagonally and sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot.
Notes
Use freshly grated cheese for optimal melt and flavor.
Cook on medium-low heat to avoid burning the bread while the cheese melts.
For a flavor twist, add jalapeños or swap in spicy cheese.
