Description
The Best Samoas Puppy Chow is an irresistible no-bake snack inspired by the iconic Girl Scout cookie. With crispy cereal coated in a luscious chocolate-caramel blend, toasted coconut, and a dusting of powdered sugar, it’s the ultimate sweet and crunchy treat for any occasion.
Ingredients
6 cups Rice or Corn Chex cereal
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup caramel bits or soft caramels
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
3/4 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
1. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine semi-sweet chocolate chips, caramel bits (or soft caramels), and butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until melted and smooth.
2. Place the Chex cereal into a large mixing bowl. Pour the chocolate-caramel mixture over the cereal and gently fold with a rubber spatula until evenly coated.
3. While warm, add the shredded coconut and mix gently. Then add the powdered sugar and toss until evenly dusted.
4. Spread the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and let it cool completely before serving or storing.
Notes
For extra crunch, toast the shredded coconut before adding it to the mix.
Let the mixture cool fully to avoid soggy cereal or sticky hands.
You can swap caramel bits for soft caramel candies with a splash of cream.
