Description

These Teriyaki Marinated Beef Strips with Sesame Seeds are tender, sticky, and full of bold, umami-packed flavor. Caramelized in a homemade teriyaki glaze and finished with toasted sesame seeds, this dish is perfect for quick weeknight dinners or impressive entertaining.

Ingredients

1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak

1/3 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1/4 cup water

1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

2 tablespoons green onion, chopped (optional)

Instructions

1. Slice the beef into thin strips against the grain for tenderness and fast cooking.

2. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, rice vinegar, water, and cornstarch. Whisk until smooth.

3. Add the sliced beef to the marinade and coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 2 hours.

4. Heat a skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat with a little oil. Sear the beef strips in batches, 2–3 minutes per side.

5. Pour the leftover marinade into the pan and let it simmer until thickened. Return the beef to the pan and coat with the sauce.

6. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot over rice, noodles, or lettuce wraps.

Notes

Marinate longer (up to 2 hours) for deeper flavor and tenderness.

Cook in batches—overcrowding the pan will steam the beef instead of searing it.

Add red pepper flakes or sriracha to spice it up if you like heat!
