Strawberry Sweet Tea

Description

This Strawberry Sweet Tea is a fruity twist on a Southern classic. Made with a simple strawberry syrup and bold black tea, it’s the ultimate summer refreshment—perfect for BBQs, picnics, or porch sittin’. Sweet, tart, and beautifully pink!

Ingredients

1 cup fresh strawberries

½ cup granulated sugar

5 cups water (divided)

4 to 5 black tea bags

1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)

2 cups ice cubes

½ cup sliced strawberries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. In a saucepan, combine 1 cup sliced strawberries, ½ cup sugar, and 1 cup of water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes, gently mashing the berries.

2. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve, pressing to extract juices. Discard solids.

3. Boil 4 cups of water, then steep 4–5 black tea bags for 5–7 minutes. Remove the bags and let cool slightly.

4. In a large pitcher, stir together the strawberry syrup and brewed tea. Add 1 tablespoon lemon juice if desired.

5. Chill with ice cubes or serve over ice-filled glasses. Garnish with fresh strawberry slices. Enjoy!

Notes

For stronger flavor, steep the tea longer or use an extra bag.

Freeze leftover tea into ice cubes to avoid watering down your drink.

Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar to the syrup.
