Description

These Spooky Boo-schetta are a Halloween-themed twist on classic bruschetta, featuring toasted baguette slices topped with a vibrant tomato-basil mix and adorable piped mozzarella ghosts. They’re festive, fun, and perfect for parties or family-friendly cooking sessions.


Ingredients

1 baguette

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons olive oil (plus extra for brushing)

1/2 cup mozzarella cheese (soft, for piping)

4 black olives, chopped finely

salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch rounds and place them on a baking sheet.

2. Brush each slice with olive oil. Toast for 8-10 minutes until golden and crisp.

3. In a bowl, mix cherry tomatoes, garlic, basil, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Let sit to blend flavors.

4. Slightly soften the mozzarella, then spoon into a piping bag or zip-top bag with the tip cut.

5. Pipe ghost shapes onto parchment paper or directly onto toast slices. Add small olive pieces as eyes.

6. Spoon the tomato mix onto each toasted slice. Gently top with mozzarella ghosts.

7. Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve immediately for best texture and taste.

Notes

Use a serrated bread knife to slice baguette cleanly without crumbling.

Let the tomato mixture sit for 10–15 minutes to deepen the flavor.

Mozzarella should be soft enough to pipe but not runny—test a small shape first.
