Ingredients
1 cup gram flour (besan)
1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 green chili, finely chopped (optional)
1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
Salt to taste
3/4 cup water (adjust as needed for consistency)
Oil or ghee for cooking
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine gram flour, spinach, onion, chili, ginger, turmeric, cumin, and salt.
- Gradually add water while whisking to form a smooth batter. The consistency should be pourable but not runny.
- Let the batter rest for 10 minutes.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease with oil or ghee.
- Pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan and gently spread into a circular shape.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until golden, then flip and cook the other side.
- Repeat with remaining batter, adding more oil as needed.
- Serve hot with chutney, yogurt, or butter.
