Description
These Spicy Shrimp Tacos are a bold, zesty dinner perfect for taco night. Juicy shrimp are marinated in a chili-lime blend, seared to perfection, then tucked into charred corn tortillas with a creamy cilantro-lime crema and crisp lettuce. Quick, easy, and packed with flavor.
Ingredients
1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
2 tablespoons lime juice
8 corn tortillas
1 cup shredded lettuce
2 green onions, chopped
2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
1 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
1 garlic clove
1 tablespoon lime juice (for crema)
1 pinch salt
Instructions
1. Combine shrimp, olive oil, chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and lime juice in a bowl. Marinate for 15–20 minutes.
2. Blend sour cream or Greek yogurt, cilantro, lime juice, garlic, and salt until smooth. Chill until serving.
3. Heat a skillet over medium-high. Cook shrimp in a single layer for 2–3 minutes per side until opaque and golden.
4. Warm tortillas in a dry skillet or over an open flame until charred and pliable.
5. Assemble tacos with lettuce, shrimp, crema, green onions, and more cilantro if desired.
Notes
Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor in both the marinade and crema.
Don’t overcrowd the skillet—cook shrimp in batches if necessary.
For extra crunch, add thinly sliced red cabbage or a few jalapeño slices.
