Ingredients
20 oz frozen or homemade meatballs
2 cups barbecue sauce
1 can (20 oz) pineapple chunks with juice
2 tablespoons brown sugar (optional)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
1. Place frozen or fully cooked homemade meatballs in the bottom of your slow cooker in an even layer.
2. In a bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce, pineapple chunks with juice, brown sugar (if using), garlic powder, and onion powder.
3. Pour the sauce over the meatballs and stir gently to coat everything evenly.
4. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or high for 2-3 hours, stirring once halfway through.
5. Once the sauce has thickened slightly and the meatballs are tender, garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
Notes
For homemade meatballs, be sure they’re cooked before adding to the slow cooker.
Crushed pineapple can be used for a smoother texture in the sauce.
To keep warm during events, set the slow cooker to the “warm” setting and serve directly from it.
