Description

This Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken is the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and garlicky richness. With minimal prep and incredible flavor, it’s a weeknight or weekend favorite. Tender chicken thighs are coated in a sticky honey garlic glaze made right in your slow cooker—no fuss, just flavor.


Ingredients

1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs

1/2 cup honey

1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce

1/4 cup ketchup

2 tablespoons rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)

4 cloves garlic, minced or pressed

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons water (for slurry)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

2 tablespoons chopped green onions (optional, for garnish)


Instructions

1. In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, vinegar, and garlic until smooth.

2. Place chicken thighs in the bottom of your slow cooker.

3. Pour sauce mixture over the chicken to coat evenly.

4. Cover and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or HIGH for 2.5–3 hours, until chicken is tender.

5. Remove chicken and set aside.

6. Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl to create a slurry.

7. Stir slurry into sauce in slow cooker and cook on HIGH for 10–15 minutes until thickened.

8. Return chicken to thickened sauce and coat well.

9. Serve over rice or vegetables, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.

Notes

Chicken thighs stay moist and tender—don’t substitute with breasts unless necessary.

To boost flavor, sear the chicken in a pan before slow cooking.

Add red pepper flakes or sriracha if you want a spicy version.
