Description
Shrimp Tortellini Alfredo is a creamy, one-skillet dinner that brings together tender cheese tortellini and juicy shrimp in a rich, homemade Alfredo sauce. It’s quick to make, deeply satisfying, and perfect for weeknights or entertaining.
Ingredients
9 oz cheese tortellini
1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 ½ cups heavy cream
3 tbsp butter
¾ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
2 cloves garlic, minced
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
1 tbsp chopped parsley or basil (optional)
Instructions
1. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add shrimp and cook for 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
2. In the same skillet, add more butter if needed, then add minced garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
3. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
4. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese gradually until fully melted and the sauce thickens.
5. Add cooked or refrigerated tortellini and simmer for 3–4 minutes to absorb flavor.
6. Return shrimp to the pan and stir until everything is heated through.
7. Season with salt and pepper, garnish with herbs, and serve immediately.
Notes
For the smoothest sauce, use freshly grated Parmesan—not pre-shredded.
If using frozen shrimp, thaw and pat dry before cooking.
To reheat leftovers, add a splash of cream or milk to maintain the sauce’s texture.
