Description

Shrimp Alfredo is a rich and satisfying pasta dish that combines sautéed shrimp with creamy Parmesan Alfredo sauce over a bed of fettuccine. It’s a comforting yet elegant meal perfect for both special occasions and weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

12 oz fettuccine pasta

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons unsalted butter (divided)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and black pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the fettuccine until al dente (8–10 minutes). Drain and set aside, reserving 1/4 cup pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and sauté for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and simmer for 4–5 minutes, stirring often.
  5. Lower the heat and whisk in Parmesan until melted and smooth. Season with additional salt and pepper if needed.
  6. Add the cooked fettuccine and toss to coat. Stir in reserved pasta water a little at a time if sauce is too thick.
  7. Return shrimp to the skillet and toss to combine. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
