Description

These Sausage French Toast Roll-Ups are the perfect fusion of sweet and savory. Breakfast sausage is rolled in flattened white bread, dipped in a cinnamon-spiced custard, and pan-fried to golden perfection. Ingredients

Breakfast sausage links (pre-cooked)

White sandwich bread (crusts removed)

2 large eggs

1/4 cup milk

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Butter (for greasing the pan)

Maple syrup (for serving)


Instructions

  1. Cook sausage links according to package instructions if not pre-cooked. Set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Trim crusts off bread slices and flatten each piece with a rolling pin.
  3. Place one sausage on the edge of each slice of bread and roll tightly. Seal the seam with gentle pressure.
  4. In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
  5. Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture, coating all sides without soaking.
  6. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook roll-ups seam-side down first, rotating until golden on all sides.
  7. Serve warm with maple syrup.
