Ingredients
8 breakfast sausage links (pre-cooked or cooked in advance)
8 slices of white sandwich bread, crusts removed
2 large eggs
1/4 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon butter (for frying)
Maple syrup and berries, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare sausages and bread: Warm sausages if needed. Trim crusts off bread slices and flatten each slice with a rolling pin.
- Roll: Place a sausage on one end of a slice of bread and roll it up tightly. Repeat with remaining slices.
- Make custard mix: In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla.
