Ingredients
12 slider buns
2 cups shredded cooked chicken
1 cup barbecue sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella or Monterey Jack cheese
1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
3 tablespoons melted butter
1 tablespoon chopped parsley or cilantro (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a mixing bowl, combine shredded chicken with barbecue sauce. Mix until well coated.
3. Slice slider buns in half horizontally. Place the bottom halves in a baking dish.
4. Evenly layer the BBQ chicken mixture onto the buns.
5. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the chicken, then add sliced red onions.
6. Place the top buns over the fillings.
7. Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle chopped herbs if using.
8. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
9. Uncover and bake for another 5 minutes until the tops are golden brown.
