A hearty and flavorful Southern classic, this Quick and Tasty Dirty Rice with Ground Beef is perfect for weeknights. It comes together in one pan with just a handful of ingredients and is easy to customize to your taste.


Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

3 cups cooked white rice

1 green bell pepper, chopped

1 small onion, chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning

1 teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

½ teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons chopped green onions (optional for garnish)


Instructions

1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a splash of oil.

2. Add chopped onion and bell pepper. Sauté for 3–5 minutes until softened.

3. Add minced garlic and stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

4. Add the ground beef. Break it up with a spoon and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.

5. Stir in Cajun seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Let cook for 1–2 minutes to toast the spices.

6. Add the cooked rice and stir thoroughly to combine. Cook for another 5 minutes, letting the rice absorb the flavor.

7. Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped green onions if desired.

8. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, use day-old rice—it’s drier and holds up well when mixed in.

If you want a traditional twist, mix in finely chopped chicken livers.

Reheat with a splash of broth or water to bring leftovers back to life.
