Description
Pumpkin Pie Twists are a cozy, spiced, hand-held treat featuring buttery puff pastry filled with a sweet pumpkin mixture. Twisted into elegant spirals and lightly dusted with powdered sugar, they’re perfect for autumn gatherings, brunches, or a comforting snack.
Ingredients
2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
1 cup pumpkin puree
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
2 tablespoons powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a bowl, mix pumpkin puree, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla until smooth.
3. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface to slightly flatten.
4. Spread the pumpkin mixture onto one half of each sheet, then fold the sheet over.
5. Slice into strips using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
6. Twist each strip gently and place on the baking sheet.
7. Brush the tops with beaten egg using a pastry brush.
8. Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden and puffed.
9. Cool on a wire rack and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Use cold puff pastry for best twisting results—too warm and it may tear.
If using homemade pumpkin puree, strain excess moisture to avoid soggy filling.
For extra crispness, bake on the lower rack for the last 3 minutes.
