Description

Golden, crispy French fries loaded with seasoned steak strips, caramelized onions and peppers, and blanketed in bubbling mozzarella and provolone cheese. This easy-to-make Philly Steak Cheese Fries recipe is the ultimate comfort food for game nights, casual dinners, or appetizer tables.

Ingredients

1 bag frozen French fries

0.75 lb ribeye or sirloin steak, thinly sliced

0.5 red bell pepper, sliced

0.5 green bell pepper, sliced

1 small yellow onion, sliced

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup shredded provolone cheese

0.5 teaspoon salt

0.5 teaspoon black pepper

0.5 teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon olive oil or butter

Instructions

1. Preheat oven and bake the frozen fries according to package directions until golden and crisp.

2. While fries are baking, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season sliced steak with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Sear for 2–3 minutes until browned, then remove from pan.

3. In the same pan, add more oil or butter. Sauté sliced onions and bell peppers for 5–7 minutes until softened and lightly caramelized.

4. On an oven-safe platter or baking dish, arrange baked fries. Top with the cooked steak and sautéed veggies.

5. Sprinkle mozzarella and provolone cheese generously over the top.

6. Place under broiler for 2–4 minutes, or until cheese is fully melted and bubbly.

7. Serve hot immediately, and enjoy!

Notes

For ultra-thin steak slices, freeze your steak for 20–30 minutes before slicing.

Don’t overcrowd the skillet; cook steak in batches if needed for best sear.

Use crinkle or waffle fries for better topping support and extra crunch.
