Ingredients

14 oz (400 g) smoked sausage, sliced into coins

8 oz (225 g) rotini or fusilli pasta

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 ½ cups water (or chicken broth)

1 cup BBQ sauce

2 tablespoons honey

1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt & pepper to taste

Optional garnish: chopped parsley or shredded cheese


Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
  2. Add sliced sausage and cook for 5–7 minutes until browned and caramelized.
  3. Lower heat, then stir in BBQ sauce, honey, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add the dry pasta and pour in the water or broth. Stir to combine.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a low simmer and cover.
  6. Cook for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and sauce thickens.
  7. Remove lid, stir well, and adjust seasoning if needed.
  8. Garnish with parsley or cheese and serve hot.
