Ingredients
14 oz (400 g) smoked sausage, sliced into coins
8 oz (225 g) rotini or fusilli pasta
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 ½ cups water (or chicken broth)
1 cup BBQ sauce
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, adjust to taste)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt & pepper to taste
Optional garnish: chopped parsley or shredded cheese
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
- Add sliced sausage and cook for 5–7 minutes until browned and caramelized.
- Lower heat, then stir in BBQ sauce, honey, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Add the dry pasta and pour in the water or broth. Stir to combine.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a low simmer and cover.
- Cook for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and sauce thickens.
- Remove lid, stir well, and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Garnish with parsley or cheese and serve hot.
