Ingredients
1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
8 oz penne pasta, cooked al dente
4 tbsp unsalted butter
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup heavy cream (optional)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Bring a pot of salted water to boil and cook penne until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water and drain.
- Season steak pieces with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
- Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium-high. Sear steak pieces 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add butter, then garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté until fragrant.
- Add cooked pasta, reserved water, and heavy cream (if using). Stir to coat.
- Mix in Parmesan until melted and sauce is creamy.
- Return steak to skillet, toss to combine, and cook 1–2 minutes more.
- Turn off heat. Add lemon juice and parsley. Adjust seasoning and serve.
