Description
This creamy One Pot Garlic Parmesan Sauce is a rich and savory addition to pasta, chicken, or vegetables. Made with fresh garlic, Parmesan cheese, and heavy cream, it comes together in one pan in under 20 minutes. Perfect for a cozy weeknight meal or elevated dinner party side.
Ingredients
3 tablespoons butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
1. In a large nonstick skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
2. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant, not browned.
3. Sprinkle in the flour and whisk constantly for 1 minute to form a roux.
4. Slowly pour in the chicken broth while whisking to prevent lumps.
5. Add heavy cream and stir until smooth and slightly thickened.
6. Lower heat and gradually stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted.
7. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
8. Simmer the sauce for 2–3 minutes until thickened to desired consistency.
9. Serve hot over pasta, chicken, or steamed vegetables.
Notes
Use freshly grated Parmesan for the smoothest melt—pre-shredded cheese can clump.
For a thinner sauce, whisk in more broth or cream 1 tablespoon at a time.
This sauce is best served immediately but can be reheated gently with extra cream if needed.
