Description

One Pot Creamy Cajun Sausage Pasta is a quick and flavorful dinner that combines spicy smoked sausage, bowtie pasta, and a rich, creamy Cajun sauce—all made in just one pan. It’s perfect for busy nights when you want bold flavor without the cleanup.

Ingredients

12 oz smoked sausage, sliced

8 oz farfalle (bowtie) pasta

1 red bell pepper, chopped

1 green bell pepper, chopped

1 small onion, chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)

2 cups chicken broth

1 cup heavy cream

4 oz cream cheese

1 tablespoon olive oil Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. 1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned.
  3. Add chopped onion and bell peppers.
  4. Sauté until softened, then stir in minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
  5. Sprinkle Cajun seasoning over the mixture and stir to combine.
  6. Pour in chicken broth and stir in the uncooked farfalle pasta.
  7. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
  8. Cover and simmer for 12 to 15 minutes or until pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
  9. Stir in heavy cream and cream cheese.
  10. Mix well until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  11. Let simmer uncovered for 2 to 3 minutes to thicken the sauce.
  12. Taste and adjust salt and pepper as needed.
  13. Serve hot with chopped parsley or shredded parmesan if desired.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use andouille sausage instead of regular smoked sausage.

Add a splash of milk when reheating to keep the sauce creamy.

For extra veggies, toss in spinach, mushrooms, or zucchini toward the end of cooking.
