Ingredients
1 lb ground beef or turkey
1 packet taco seasoning
1/4 cup water
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken or mushroom soup
1 cup sour cream
1 can diced tomatoes or Rotel
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or Mexican blend)
4 cups tortilla chips, crushed
Sliced jalapeños (optional)
Chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook ground beef or turkey in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add taco seasoning and 1/4 cup water to the meat. Stir and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and diced tomatoes. Stir in the seasoned meat.
- Layer half of the crushed tortilla chips in the baking dish. Top with half of the meat mixture, then half of the shredded cheese. Repeat layers.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 10 minutes until bubbly.
- Garnish with jalapeños and cilantro if desired. Serve hot.
