This Meaty Texas Trash Dip is a bold, cheesy, and hearty Tex-Mex inspired appetizer that’s perfect for game day or gatherings. Loaded with seasoned ground beef, creamy beans, and layers of melty cheese, it’s served warm and topped with fresh garnishes. Just add tortilla chips and dig in!
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 packet taco seasoning mix
1 can (16 oz) refried beans
1 cup sour cream
1 cup cream cheese, softened
1½ cups shredded Mexican blend cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 can (10 oz) Rotel tomatoes (drained)
½ cup canned corn (drained)
¼ cup chopped cilantro (optional)
Tortilla chips, for serving
Optional toppings: dollop of sour cream, extra tomatoes, cilantro
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook and crumble the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in taco seasoning and a little water. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix refried beans, sour cream, and softened cream cheese until smooth.
- Spread the creamy mixture in a greased 9×9-inch baking dish.
- Top with the seasoned beef, then sprinkle on corn and drained Rotel tomatoes.
- Cover with both shredded cheeses.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20–25 minutes, until hot and bubbly.
- Garnish with cilantro, sour cream, and extra tomatoes if desired. Serve with tortilla chips.
