Whether you’re baking for a party, prepping for the holidays, or craving a quick dessert idea, this easy cookie recipe will be your new go-to. With pantry-friendly ingredients and rich flavor, they’re ideal for snack lovers, sweet tooths, and anyone searching for the perfect twist on traditional chocolate chip cookies. Great for quick baking sessions, festive cookie trays, or simply as a delicious treat!

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup brown sugar, packed

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup maraschino cherries, chopped and patted dry

Instructions

1. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

2. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips and maraschino cherries using a rubber spatula. Do not overmix.

6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

8. Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop dough onto the baking sheet, spacing evenly.

9. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are golden and centers look slightly underbaked.

10. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For the best texture, make sure your cherries are fully patted dry before adding them to the dough.

Chilling the dough enhances the flavor and prevents spreading—don’t skip this step!

Use a light-colored baking sheet to avoid over-browning the bottoms.
