Description

These Lime & Cilantro Steak Tacos are packed with flavor and incredibly easy to make. Marinated in a zesty blend of lime juice, garlic, and warm spices, the steak is grilled to juicy perfection, then topped with chopped onions and fresh cilantro. Perfect for taco night or weekend entertaining, these tacos are a refreshing and satisfying meal you’ll want to make on repeat.


Ingredients

1 pound flank or skirt steak

3 tablespoons fresh lime juice

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 garlic cloves, minced

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

8 small corn tortillas

½ cup chopped white onion

½ cup chopped fresh cilantro


Instructions

1. In a bowl, whisk together lime juice, olive oil, garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper.

2. Place the steak in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, preferably up to 2 hours.

3. Heat a cast iron skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the surface.

4. Remove steak from marinade and grill 3–5 minutes per side for medium-rare. Let it rest for 5 minutes.

5. While steak rests, warm the tortillas on a pan or in foil in the oven.

6. Slice the steak thinly against the grain.

7. Assemble tacos: place steak slices in tortillas and top with chopped onion and cilantro.

8. Serve with extra lime wedges or optional toppings like avocado, salsa, or cheese.

Notes

Always slice the steak against the grain to keep it tender.

Let the steak rest after cooking to retain its juices.

For extra flavor, toast your tortillas in a dry pan until slightly charred.
