Korean-Style Ground Beef Ramen

  • Author: Olivia McKenney

  • Yield: 2–3 servings

Description

This Korean-Style Ground Beef Ramen is a flavorful and quick dinner idea made with seasoned ground beef, bouncy ramen noodles, and a spicy-sweet sauce. It’s a comfort food fusion that comes together fast, making it perfect for weeknights when you want something bold and satisfying.

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

2 packs ramen noodles (discard seasoning)

3 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon gochujang or 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

1 teaspoon sesame oil

3 green onions, sliced

Instructions

1. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and break it up with a spatula. Cook for 6–8 minutes until browned and crisp on the edges.

2. Reduce heat to medium. Stir in the garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, and gochujang (or red pepper flakes). Simmer for 2–3 minutes until the beef soaks up the sauce.

3. In a separate pot, cook the ramen noodles according to package directions (without the seasoning packet). Drain well.

4. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet with the beef. Toss well with tongs or chopsticks to coat the noodles in sauce.

5. Drizzle with sesame oil and top with sliced green onions. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Don’t overcook the noodles—keep them slightly firm so they don’t turn mushy when tossed with the sauce.

Gochujang adds a more authentic flavor than pepper flakes, so use it if available.

If reheating leftovers, add a splash of water to bring the sauce back to life.
