With the chewy, golden texture of focaccia and the nostalgic, sugary essence of a jam donut, this hybrid bake is a showstopper. Perfect for quick breakfast ideas, easy dessert recipes, or a whimsical addition to your brunch spread, it’s a guaranteed crowd-pleaser that looks impressive but is surprisingly simple to make. Whether you’re hosting a party or just want a cozy snack, this recipe checks all the boxes for food ideas that feel both familiar and fun.

Ingredients

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 packet instant yeast (2 ¼ tsp)

1 cup warm water

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)

½ cup raspberry or strawberry jam

¾ cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Stir in warm water, instant yeast, and olive oil. Mix until a sticky dough forms.

2. Knead the dough for 5–7 minutes by hand or with a dough hook until smooth and elastic.

3. Transfer the dough to a lightly oiled bowl. Cover and let rise for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled in size.

4. Grease a 9×13-inch pan. Place the risen dough into the pan and stretch gently to fill.

5. Using oiled fingers, make dimples in the dough and spoon small dollops of jam into several dimples.

6. Let the dough rise again for 30–40 minutes until puffy.

7. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush the top of the dough with melted butter.

8. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown.

9. While baking, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to create the glaze.

10. Once focaccia is slightly cooled, drizzle with glaze, slice, and enjoy.

Notes

For easier dough handling, oil your hands instead of using extra flour.

You can refrigerate the dough overnight after the first rise for added flavor.

Use a piping bag for cleaner, more controlled jam placement in the dough.
