Description

This Ground Beef Casserole Potatoes recipe combines savory ground beef, tender potatoes, and layers of creamy cheese into a hearty, oven-baked meal the whole family will crave. Perfect for chilly nights or whenever you need a reliable comfort food classic.


Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

56 medium Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes, thinly sliced

1 small onion, diced

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup

1/2 cup milk

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and diced onion until browned. Drain excess grease and season with salt and pepper.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth.
  4. Layer half the sliced potatoes in the baking dish. Top with half the beef mixture, pour over half the soup mixture, and sprinkle with cheese.
  5. Repeat layers with remaining potatoes, beef, soup, and cheese.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 60 minutes.
  7. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until top is golden and bubbly.
  8. Let sit for 5-10 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
