Ingredients

All-purpose flour

Baking powder

Salt

Unsalted butter (for batter and frosting)

Granulated sugar

Eggs

Vanilla extract

Whole milk

Grape soda or grape juice concentrate

Powdered sugar

Purple food coloring (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prep: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line muffin tin with cupcake liners and spray lightly.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Set aside.
  3. Cream Butter and Sugar: Beat butter and sugar until fluffy (2-3 mins).
  4. Add Eggs and Vanilla: Mix in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  5. Combine Wet and Dry: Alternately add flour mixture and milk to the batter. Mix just until combined.
  6. Fill and Bake: Fill cupcake liners 2/3 full. Bake 18-20 mins. Cool completely.
  7. Make Frosting: Beat butter, gradually add powdered sugar, and mix in grape soda or concentrate. Add purple coloring if using. Beat until fluffy.
  8. Frost and Decorate: Pipe frosting onto cooled cupcakes. Top with optional candies or garnish.
