2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 teaspoon flaky sea salt (optional)


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract and mix until smooth.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.

5. Fold in the chocolate chips with a silicone spatula, being careful not to overmix.

6. Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan. Sprinkle with extra chocolate chips and flaky sea salt if using.

7. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is just set.

8. Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before slicing into bars.

Notes
