Description

These Glow in the Dark Rice Krispies Treats are not only fun and easy to make, but they also light up your party with a magical glow under blacklight. Perfect for Halloween, birthdays, or any glow-themed celebration, this treat is crunchy, gooey, and visually dazzling. The glow effect is created with tonic water and gelatin, adding an extra layer of fun to a nostalgic favorite.

Ingredients

4 cups mini marshmallows

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

6 cups Rice Krispies cereal

1 cup tonic water

2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin

Neon food coloring (optional)

Cooking spray or butter for greasing

Instructions

1. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over low heat. Add the mini marshmallows and stir until melted and smooth.

2. Remove the pan from heat and gently fold in the Rice Krispies cereal until well coated.

3. Press the mixture evenly into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish using a spatula or greased hands. Let cool.

4. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine tonic water and unflavored gelatin. Microwave for 30 seconds, then stir until dissolved. Add neon food coloring if desired.

5. Brush or drizzle the gelatin mixture over the cooled Rice Krispies treats. You can also dip individual pieces for more glow.

6. Refrigerate the treats for 10–15 minutes to set the glow layer.

7. Serve under a blacklight to reveal the glowing effect and enjoy!

Notes

Be sure to use tonic water, not club soda—quinine is what gives the glow effect.

For maximum glow, serve the treats in a completely dark room with a high-powered blacklight.

Add food coloring to the gelatin mix for extra neon brightness under UV light.
