Ingredients

4 tablespoons butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 ½ cups heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)


Instructions

1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until fully liquefied and sizzling.

2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, just until fragrant but not browned.

3. Slowly pour in the heavy cream while whisking to create a smooth mixture. Bring to a gentle simmer.

4. Reduce heat to low, then gradually stir in the Parmesan cheese. Whisk continuously until melted and the sauce thickens.

5. Stir in Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.

6. Simmer gently for another 4-5 minutes until the sauce coats the back of a spoon.

Notes

For ultra-smooth sauce, grate Parmesan fresh and avoid pre-shredded cheese, which may clump.

Sauce thickens as it cools. Reheat with a splash of cream or milk to return it to pourable consistency.

Skip the red pepper flakes if serving kids or prefer a mild sauce.
