Ingredients
2 cups cheese tortellini
1/2 lb ground beef
1/2 lb Italian sausage
2 cups fresh spinach
4 garlic cloves, minced
3 tablespoons butter
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper
Instructions
- 1. Brown the Meats: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage, breaking it apart as it cooks
- . Once browned and fully cooked, remove from skillet and set aside.
- Sauté Garlic in Butter: In the same skillet, melt the butter.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
- Make the Cream Sauce:
- Stir in the heavy cream and let it simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Cook the Tortellini: Meanwhile, boil the cheese tortellini in salted water according to package directions.
- Drain well. Combine and Fold: Add cooked tortellini and fresh spinach to the cream sauce.
- Stir until spinach wilts.
- Return the cooked meat to the skillet and stir to coat everything evenly.
- Add Cheese & Finish: Top with Parmesan and mozzarella cheese.
- Allow it to melt over low heat for 2–3 minutes.
- Serve hot.
Notes
Use fresh tortellini for best texture and faster cook time.
Let the sauce simmer gently—don’t boil it or it may separate.
To make it spicier, use hot Italian sausage or add red pepper flakes.
