Description

These Fluffy Dinner Rolls are golden, buttery, and soft enough to melt in your mouth. Perfect for family dinners, holidays, or just because—each bite is rich, tender, and slightly sweet. A comforting, bakery-style roll you can make right at home.


Ingredients

4 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup whole milk

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast

1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)

1 large egg

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup warm water (about 110°F)

2 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing)


Instructions

1. In a small bowl, combine warm water, 1 teaspoon sugar, and active dry yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.

2. In a stand mixer bowl, mix flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Add yeast mixture, milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix with dough hook on low, then knead for 5–8 minutes until smooth.

3. Transfer to a greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1–1.5 hours until doubled.

4. Punch down dough. Divide into 15 equal portions. Roll each into a ball and place in greased 9×13 baking dish.

5. Cover and let rise another 30–45 minutes until puffy and touching.

6. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 18–20 minutes until golden.

7. Brush warm rolls with melted butter. Serve and enjoy.

Notes

Make sure your yeast is fresh—expired yeast won’t rise properly.

Use a stand mixer with a dough hook for best kneading results.

For extra shine, brush with an egg wash before baking.
