Description

This Easy Irresistible Lasagna is packed with layers of savory beef and sausage, creamy ricotta, and gooey mozzarella, all nestled between tender lasagna noodles and rich tomato sauce. It’s hearty, comforting, and perfect for make-ahead meals or feeding a hungry crowd.


Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1/2 pound Italian sausage

1 medium yellow onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

28 ounces crushed tomatoes

2 tablespoons tomato paste

2 teaspoons Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper, to taste

15 ounces ricotta cheese

1 large egg

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

9 lasagna noodles, oven-ready or pre-boiled

2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley (optional)


Instructions

1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and Italian sausage with diced onion until browned. Drain excess fat.

2. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15–20 minutes.

3. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and half the Parmesan. Mix until creamy.

4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread a layer of meat sauce in a 9×13 baking dish.

5. Add a layer of lasagna noodles, then spread ricotta mixture, top with mozzarella, and repeat layers. End with sauce and remaining cheeses.

6. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 20 minutes until bubbly and golden.

7. Let rest for 10–15 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Simmer the sauce long enough so it thickens—this prevents watery lasagna.

Allow the lasagna to rest after baking so the layers set for easier slicing.

Use freshly grated mozzarella and Parmesan for better melt and flavor.
