Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
5 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
1 medium onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup milk
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 tsp paprika (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel and slice potatoes into thin rounds. Dice onion and mince garlic.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion and garlic to skillet; sauté until fragrant. Season with salt, pepper, and optional paprika.
- In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup with milk until smooth.
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Layer potatoes, then beef mixture, then soup. Repeat layers, ending with potatoes.
- Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top. Cover with foil.
- Bake for 1 hour. Remove foil and bake an additional 15-20 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
