Description

This hearty and wholesome ground beef and cabbage skillet dinner is quick to make, budget-friendly, and packed with flavor. Cooked in one pan and ready in under 30 minutes, it’s the perfect meal for busy weeknights or cozy family dinners.


Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

4 cups green cabbage, chopped

1 medium onion, chopped

1 cup carrots, shredded or thinly sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)


Instructions

1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.

2. Add the ground beef to the skillet. Break it apart with a spoon and cook until browned and no longer pink. Drain excess grease if needed.

3. Stir in chopped cabbage and shredded carrots. Mix well to combine.

4. Sprinkle with paprika, salt, and pepper. Reduce heat to medium-low. Cover the skillet and let everything cook together for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.

5. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Slice cabbage thinly to help it cook faster and caramelize better.

Use lean ground beef (90/10 or 93/7) to keep the dish light and not greasy.

Add a splash of apple cider vinegar at the end for a tangy twist and enhanced flavor.
