Description

A rich and silky dessert with a gooey fudge center baked into a crisp buttery crust. This Decadent Hot Fudge Pie is simple to make and impossible to resist—perfect for celebrations or a cozy treat at home.

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter

1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

3/4 cup cocoa powder

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

4 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 9-inch pre-made or homemade pie crust

Instructions

1. Place the pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and crimp the edges. Prebake for 5–7 minutes at 350°F.

2. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Whisk in cocoa powder until smooth and glossy. Remove from heat and let cool.

3. In a large bowl, beat eggs, sugar, and vanilla until pale. Stir in the cooled cocoa mixture.

4. Fold in flour and salt with a spatula until fully incorporated.

5. Pour the mixture into the pie crust and smooth the top.

6. Bake at 350°F for 30–35 minutes, until the edges are set and the center is just jiggly.

7. Let cool for at least 1 hour before slicing. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Let the pie cool completely before slicing to help it firm up cleanly.

Dutch-processed cocoa yields a smoother flavor; natural cocoa is more intense.

For an extra twist, stir in 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips before baking.
