Ingredients
2.5 to 3 lbs chuck roast
1 cup beef broth
1 medium onion, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
12 slider buns
6 slices provolone or Swiss cheese, halved
Optional pickles or caramelized onions for topping
Instructions
1. Season chuck roast with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Place in the crockpot.
2. Add sliced onions and minced garlic over the roast.
3. Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce to cover 1/3 to 1/2 of the meat.
4. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours or HIGH for 4-5 hours until fork-tender.
5. Remove roast and shred with forks or tongs. Return shredded meat to the crockpot to soak in the juices.
6. Place shredded beef on slider buns, add cheese, and melt under broiler if desired.
7. Top with pickles or caramelized onions and serve warm.
Notes
For deeper flavor, sear the chuck roast in a skillet before placing it in the crockpot.
Use provolone, Swiss, or mozzarella cheese—whatever melts best for your preference.
Store leftover shredded beef in the juices to keep it moist for reheating.
