Description

This crispy bang bang chicken recipe delivers golden-brown tenders coated in crunchy panko and drenched in a creamy-spicy-sweet sauce. It’s the perfect crowd-pleaser for weeknight dinners or appetizer spreads.


Ingredients

Boneless, skinless chicken breasts or tenderloins

Buttermilk

Cornstarch

All-purpose flour

Panko breadcrumbs

Salt

Pepper

Garlic powder

Paprika

Eggs

Vegetable oil

Mayonnaise

Sweet chili sauce

Sriracha

Honey (optional)


Instructions

  1. Cut chicken into strips and soak in buttermilk with salt for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Set up three bowls: one with flour, cornstarch, and spices; one with beaten eggs; one with panko.
  3. Coat chicken in flour mix, dip in egg, then press into panko.
  4. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry chicken until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. Mix mayo, sweet chili sauce, and Sriracha in a bowl. Add honey if desired.
  6. Toss fried chicken in sauce or drizzle over the top. Serve immediately.
