A bold and creamy pasta dish infused with Caribbean flavors, this Jamaican Shrimp Rasta Pasta brings together tender shrimp, colorful bell peppers, and rich cheesy sauce for a spicy, satisfying meal that’s quick enough for weeknights and indulgent enough for guests.


Ingredients

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons jerk seasoning (divided)

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon butter

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced

1 yellow bell pepper, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup chopped red onion

2 cups heavy cream

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

10 oz penne pasta (or rigatoni), cooked al dente

Fresh chopped parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. Toss shrimp with 1 tablespoon of jerk seasoning.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and cook shrimp 2–3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter. Add bell peppers, red onion, and garlic; sauté 4–5 minutes.
  4. Add heavy cream, remaining jerk seasoning, paprika, Parmesan, and mozzarella. Stir until creamy.
  5. Mix in cooked pasta and return shrimp to the skillet. Combine and heat through.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
