Description
Classic Copycat Texas Roadhouse Green Beans are simmered in savory broth with bacon, garlic, and optional onions to deliver that smoky, homestyle flavor we all love. Whether you’re bringing a bit of steakhouse magic to your dinner table or need a reliable side for holidays, this one-pan dish is a winner.
Ingredients
1 pound green beans (fresh or canned, drained)
6 slices bacon, diced
1 cup chicken broth
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, finely diced (optional)
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
1. In a large skillet, cook diced bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside, keeping the bacon fat in the pan.
2. Add minced garlic and diced onion (if using) to the skillet. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
3. Add green beans and pour in the chicken broth. Stir gently to coat the beans in the mixture.
4. Simmer uncovered on low heat for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beans are tender.
5. Return the crispy bacon to the skillet. Stir to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then serve hot.
Notes
Use fresh green beans for a firmer texture, or canned for a softer, quicker version.
A splash of apple cider vinegar at the end can brighten the flavors.
To make ahead, cook the bacon and aromatics and refrigerate. Finish simmering with green beans just before serving.
