Description
This Churro Saltine Toffee recipe transforms humble saltine crackers into a decadent dessert layered with buttery toffee, a creamy spread, and a spiced cinnamon sugar topping. It’s quick to make, wildly addictive, and perfect for holidays, potlucks, or late-night treats.
Ingredients
40 saltine crackers
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
¼ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup sweetened cream cheese or stabilized whipped cream
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment or foil and layer with saltine crackers.
2. In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat. Stir constantly until fully combined. Let boil undisturbed for 3 minutes.
3. Pour the toffee mixture evenly over crackers and spread gently with a spatula.
4. Bake for 8–10 minutes until bubbling. Remove from oven and let cool for 5–10 minutes.
5. Gently spread sweetened cream cheese or whipped cream over the toffee layer.
6. Mix cinnamon and granulated sugar in a small bowl. Sprinkle generously over the cream layer.
7. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes until firm. Dust with powdered sugar.
8. Slice into bars and serve!
Notes
Let the toffee cool just enough to spread cream without melting it—about 5 to 10 minutes.
For extra flavor, use vanilla-infused cream cheese or whipped cream.
Use a hot knife to cut cleaner slices, especially if serving chilled.
